Are you interested in serving at Life's Journey? No matter what your gifts or talents are, there is always a place for you to get involved. There is always a need for passionate and willing members of our church family to help out in the church. Scroll down to see some of our specific needs.
Our teachers teach the Bible lesson and lead the children each Sunday in a small group setting. They prepare a craft and/or game for the children to play to supplement the lesson as well.
Helpers assist the lead teacher in any way needed. Helpers help with the craft, game and things like taking the children to the restroom so that the teacher can teach uninterrupted.
Workers in our nursery take care of, play with and pray over the babies while their parents are in the service. They give a snack and change the babies if needed.
Children's Leadership Team
This team consists of adults that desire to dream up, brainstorm, and execute ideas that will benefit our children, their families and the community in which we minister. This team works closely with the children’s pastor and offers support and encouragement as he leads the student ministry.
Each Sunday, the equipment we use for the children's ministry must be put together and taken down. These volunteers help with the process of preparing for Kids, Preschool, and Nursery as well as taking it down after church.
Student Small Group Leaders
Our small group leaders lead a small group of students in discussion each Tuesday night during youth. Groups are generally divided up between girls and guys. Male leaders are with guys and female leaders are with girls. Leaders are encouraged to reach out to students throughout the week.
Student Leadership Team
This team consists of adults who desire to dream up, brainstorm, and execute ideas that will benefit our students, their families and the community in which we minister. This team works closely with the Student Pastor and offers support and encouragement as he leads the student ministry.
This role is designed for believers who desire to mentor a student by pouring into them sound, biblical teaching and walking with them through their journey. This includes studying the Word together, missional living, prayer, fun activities and consistent fellowship from week to week.
Chaperones for Student Trips
Adults accompany students on trips and assist the Student Pastor to ensure the safety and well being of students. Sometimes chaperones may be needed to drive students to and from destination.
Drivers/Transportation for Student Trips
We need volunteers to drive students to and from appointed destination and/or offer a means of transportation (van, bus, car, etc.)
We need homes that are opened to students for events or hangouts such as DNow, guys' fellowship, girls' spend-the-night parties, etc.
This team is for believers who want to be intentional about praying for our students and leaders. The prayer team may ask individual students about ways they can pray for them, let students and leaders know they are praying, and even lead prayer times on Tuesday nights with the students. This team has the freedom to be creative.
This is for believers who desire to share their hearts with students with sound biblical teaching. Individuals interested in speaking may meet with the Student Pastor for further discussion.
Individuals that interested in sponsoring a student to aid them in raising money for camps, trips, etc. should contact the Student Pastor for more information.
If you are skilled in playing an instrument or singing and you would like to help lead in worship from stage, there's a place for you. We practice on Tuesday evenings at 6pm.
The tech team is responsible for making everything tick. There are opportunities for people to run the sound board, the lyrics on the screen and the lighting. No prior training is needed. We will train you as you get started.
If you are gifted musically and you have a heart for children or students, there's a place for you to serve. We would love to have you lead our young people in worship and teach them what it means to be an active worshipper. You will be coordinating with our Worship Pastor and Student Pastor/Children's Director.
Creative Worship Team
If you are interested in drama, set design, lighting or any other creative way to create an environment of worship, we would love to have you.
(Note: to sign up, you must be on the greeting team. Please contact Sharon to be added to this team.)
Volunteers on our Greeting Team are the first people our attendees come in contact with at our Sunday morning service. They serve by making each individual feel at home. They greet people before our service, welcome visitors, and help people find seats.
Our ushers help people find seats before the service, pass the collection plate, and serve the Lord's Supper corporately.
The Security Team is responsible for staying in the lobby during our service. The purpose of the Security Team is to ensure the lobby remains quiet during the service and to welcome any late guests.
The Lord's Supper Team is in charge of preparing the elements for communion each week, as well as preparing for the body to take communion corporately once a month.
Our setup team is responsible for setting up and taking down chairs on Sundays for our service, as well as setting up other things needed. Each team will serve once every 5 weeks, as well as helping prepare for various church events throughout the year.
This team is responsible for brewing coffee and setting up the coffee cart for our Sunday services.
